Paarl Wedding Venues | Site Visits

14 / 03 / 17

Last week we had the pleasure of driving out to Paarl to visit a few wedding venues in the area. Part of the Western Cape's Winelands region, this area is naturally picturesque, with its rolling hills covered in vineyards and bold mountain vistas. Below are the venues we had the pleasure of visiting.

Belair Country House & Events Venue

Belair Wedding Venue Paarl

Belair Country House, our first stop on our trip through the Cape Winelands.  Here we were welcomed by Belair’s co-ordinator, Erin, who is your go-to person when planning your dream day. This being my first visit to the venue, I was blown away by how both the ceremony and reception venues bring the beauty of the outdoors inside.

The all-embracing, landscaped gardens provide the perfect setting for photographs and – for those of you who wish to do it differently – outdoor ceremony and reception.

The ivy-covered open air chapel provides a charming ceremony area with views of the water feature and reception venue.

The Pavilion, a contemporary glass palace surrounded by magnificent scenery, can be used to host your reception.  The modern interior with its floor-to-ceiling glass windows and silver décor, allows for couples to create a magical ambience.

With the accommodation just up the hill, you and your closest friends and family can stay on-site.

The Venue @ Pearl Mountain

The Venue At Pearl Mountain Wedding Venue Paarl

New to the wedding scene, The Venue at Pearl Mountain is a venue to watch out for. Situated on the slopes of Paarl Mountain, the venue is surrounded by panoramic views of the Berg River Valley and vineyards. Beautiful! With Loretta as marketing manager, The Venue is now on the lists of most brides hunting for their perfect venue.

The top garden lends itself perfectly to an outdoor ceremony area where your guests can admire the view while you say your I-Do’s. With an indoor chapel in the works, brides will be spoilt for choice.

The reception venue opens out onto a paved patio and allowing for a free-flow between the inside and outside spaces. Its contemporary interiors create a warm and welcoming atmosphere.

Grande Roche Hotel

Grande Roche Hotel Paarl Wedding Venue

Nestled at the foot of the magnificent Paarl Rock, the Grande Roche Hotel is a must-see when in Paarl. From elopements to extravagant weddings, Grande Roche provides the perfect setting.

For smaller, intimate ceremonies, one can tie the knot in the unique setting of the restored chapel. Alternatively, guests can be seated on the Bosman’s Lawn, alongside the Manor House, with views of the Drakenstein Mountains and the backdrop of Paarl Rock.

When visiting the Grande Roche, lovely ladies Nicolene and Tanielle introduced us to the various venues on-site. From the elegant restaurant to the charming private dining room or the newest addition, the conference venue, the hotel offers couples a truly historic and unique setting in which to exchange vows and host an elegant wedding reception.

Nantes Estate

Nantes Estate Paarl Wedding Venue

At the top of the estate and emerging from the surrounding vineyards, Nantes Estate stands proud. The venue, with its elegant spaces and exquisite views, is a manor now renovated into a function venue.

The ceremony, pre-drinks and reception venue, all within in close proximity, makes it a convenient space and ideal location for weddings.

Once inside, the staircase leads upstairs into the stylish reception area, which flows into a beautifully decorated library, which, in turn, opens onto a veranda overlooking the vineyards and mountains.

Cascade Country Manor

Cascade Country Manor Paarl Wedding Venue

Our day in Paarl ended at the Cascade Country Manor, an idyllic and luxurious private retreat.

Driving through the olive trees and vineyards, one is welcomed by the backdrop of the majestic Klein Drakenstein Mountains. On our arrival, we were shown around the country guest house and pristine ground by owner, Maika Goetze.

Our favourite feature and a highlight of our day had to be the waterfall and ceremony area located on the property. This tranquil setting is quite unlike any other and left a lasting impression on us.

In the evening, couples can choose to have their reception indoors, or on warmer evenings, outdoors on the veranda.
